Zablone Owiti has over 15 years of experience in climate services linking climate information to application in various sectors. He currently holds the position of Climate Adaptation Expert at the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF). Prior to joining ACBF, he worked at the UNICEF, Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office as a Climate Science Specialist providing climate mainstreaming technical support to Country Offices. Owiti previously worked as a Climate Services expert at the SouthSouthNorth in the Coordination and Knowledge Exchange Unit for the Future Climate for Africa Program. He has also been on short deployments as a climate services expert to various UN organizations under the Norwegian Capacity program. In the local scene, Owiti has been Lecturer and Head of Department at the University of Kabianga, a Science Secretary at the Kenya National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation, and a Climate Research Associate, at the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre.
