Syprose Ochieng is a Research Assistant at The African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS). She holds a master’s degree in international studies from the University of Nairobi and a bachelor’s degree in Development studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She has over 6 years’ experience in programme support working with various organizations on numerous projects and programmes in financing and implementation of urban governance, urban planning, climate change, resilient cities and communities, affordable housing, pro-poor water and sanitation, and disaster risk management. Hence, her keen interest in sustainable urban development, gender, energy and climate change adaptation and resilience.
At ACTS she works with climate economies and resilience programme supporting the knowledge systems and innovation team, Modern Energy and Cooking Services programme and also other projects within the organization to contribute to knowledge brokerage and advocacy for application of research finding in decision-making, and carry out scientific writing and dissemination materials.
