Simon Githuo Mwangi

Simon is a passionate socio-environmentalist with a background in community development. He has over seven years of experience in Environment and social safeguarding, Environment and social impact assessment, Land acquisition and relocation action planning, and Environment and Social due diligence.

Simon has worked in different roles in the private sector including working as part of the consulting team for Standard gauge railway construction in Kenya. He is currently the environment and social safeguard manager in a renewable energy company operating in Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Malawi, and Zambia. He is also a member of the Hydro Empowerment network a network of practitioners aiming at advancing sustainable small-scale hydropower for community empowerment in the global south. Simon is a certified environmental impact assessment and audit expert and a member of the Environment Institute of Kenya.
