Misganaw Tewachew Hunegnaw is currently a public health professional specialist and working in the ministry of health of Ethiopia for more than 11 years. I have a BSc degree in Health Education and Promotion Professional in June 2010 and hold master of public health from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Royal Tropical Institute in September 2017. Since then I have been working in the ministry of health of Ethiopia at the capacities of public health professional specialist, health extension and primary health care service expert and health promotion and disease prevention officer. I have significant experience in climate change and health, public health, health systems, health system resilience and primary health care levels in Ethiopia and working with international organizations.
I have significant experience in public health emergency preparedness and response, climate change and health programs, chemical and hazardous waste prevention and control, resilient health system, health system strengthening, primary health care services, climate sensitive disease (malaria, meningitis, dengue, yellow fever, and cholera) surveillance and early warning, maternal and child health, nutrition, health promotion and disease prevention, infection prevention and control, advocacy, community mobilization and Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC).
In addition, I have significant experience in development of strategy, proposals, policy analysis, manuals, framework and guidelines; conducting regular health program integrated and specific supportive supervision; provide capacity building activities for regional health officers through training of trainers; conduct experience sharing and exposure visits; formulating and disseminating best practices; coordinate, facilitate, organize different trainings, review meetings, workshops and other events.
