Majola is employed as a Programme Officer responsible for Policy at the Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions (SACAU) as well as the organisation’s climate change programme. Prior to joining SACAU, he was as a Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the North-West University, South Africa. Before that, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Agricultural Economics discipline at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Majola holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Agriculture in Food Security from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He also graduated with an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zimbabwe, a BSc in Agriculture majoring in Agricultural Economics and Management from the University of Swaziland. He started his career with the Ministry of Agriculture in Swaziland as an Agricultural Economist where he was responsible for policy development and analysis and capital projects management before joining the University of Swaziland as a Lecturer in Agricultural Economics. Majola has authored and co-authored journal publications and conference papers on institutional economics of farmers’ organisations, agribusiness, food security and livelihoods, and climate change adaptation strategies in agriculture. He also serves as a reviewer for a number of ISI and IBSS accredited journals.
