Belinda Kaimuri

Belinda Kaimuri is an adept Climate and Disaster Risk Finance Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in climate and green finance, climate risk insurance, disaster risk financing, public finance, research and analysis, capacity development and policy input. She has a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi and M.Sc. in Economic Policy and Analysis from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Belina is passionate in using economic and analytical skills to offer solutions centered around the development context around sustainability and resilience. Belinda has contributed to evidence-based policies and business decisions owing to good understanding of the political, economic, and social context in developing countries as they relate to climate and disaster risk finance owing to her experience working in Sub Saharan Africa. Belinda is currently a Senior Associate at Genesis Analytics’ Climate Economics and Development practice in Nairobi, Kenya. Most recently, she has worked as a Project Manager for the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) in Egypt with PwC UK and funded by UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and a Technical Specialist for a project aiming to strengthen financial resilience in Mongolia with the International Centre for Environmental Management (ICEM) and funded by Asia Development Bank (ADB). Belinda also co-leads the Adaptation and Resilience stream of work with the Climate Economics and Development practice. She has notably been involved as an Economic Consultant in the agenda for policy coherence across climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction (DRR) with finance as an entry point.
