Alphonce Munyao Muia

Alphonce Munyao Muia is a Kenyan volunteer at Catholic Youth Network for Environmental Sustainability in Africa, a role that has shaped his understanding of the faith and environmentalism nexus propelling him to currently serve as the Faith and Environment thematic facilitator in the UNEP Children and Youth Major Group global steering committee (the official youth engagement mechanism to UNEP). In the steering committee, he also serves as an expert on Stockholm+50 and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration processes.

He is also the Director of Environmental science at Partnerships for Change, an organization based in California, USA where he fosters the link between the organization and UN Environment, its conventions as well as carrying out projects’ conceptualization, planning and actualization. He serves as the link between the organization and other international environmental projects including the African Great Green Wall Project.

Alphonce’s passions and commitment have made him develop his expertise in various realms including Environmental policy, advocacy and other sustainability and ecological topics and he is interested in bridging the gap between environmental policies formulation and implementation especially with the base of young people.

He holds a BSc.Environmental Science and several certificates on environmental multilateralism.
