Pearl Nkusi is a climate scientist with experience in climate change reporting and project management. She currently works with the Climate Change Program at Rwanda Environment Management Authority where she provides thorough technical support and day to day follow up of ongoing projects related to National Communications, Biennial Update Reports, building Measurement Reporting and Verification (MRV) and any other activity related to implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and Paris Agreement. Before Joining REMA, she worked with Rwanda Meteorology Agency as a Meteorological Applications Officer
Her research interests broadly encompass understanding changes in weather and climate parameters in relation to extreme events already affecting the region and downscaling global climate projections to the Rwandan context. Her recently completed work includes a research paper on “Statistical Downscaling of Global model outputs to precipitation in Rwanda”.
